Hi, I'm Laura
I'm a surface pattern and textile designer living in eastern North Carolina where quick trips to the beach are easy and frequent. I've explored my love of pattern, color, and texture through a prolific career as a textile designer for prints and wovens, as well as in stationery and other products. I have a deep passion for encouraging others and spreading joy through my designs. I love to share my knowledge on all things creative, and chat with other creatives (yes, you!).
I've been designing patterns for as long as I can remember. I grew up in North and South Carolina, where both of my grandmothers had a deep passion for arts and crafts. I learned knitting at the age of seven, had a small handloom by age nine, and a fascination with color since . . . well, let's just say birth. I've also been an encourager my whole life. In fact, maybe you are a follower of mine from way back, when I did my best to encourage single moms of faith. I'm the first to cheer someone on, try to lift their spirits, and simply point out the things in them that I think are beautiful. It seems like a hard thing to combine art + encouragement, except that art often sparks joy and hope, and the world could use a little more of that. Don't you agree?
Let's come together and spread more of it around, shall we? Whether you're here to find the perfect gift or card to encourage another, want to learn about textile design, are interested in collaborating, or want to add more joy to your line through licensing with me, I hope you'll choose to join in my mission of leaving people better off than you found them.
Since 2019, I've been a supporter of The Letter Project. A wonderful organization that encourages girls and women across the globe during times when they need it most. A portion of proceeds from all sales goes toward their efforts.
See there? You're already spreading more joy and didn't even know it.:)
